Art Paris, The tendencies

Art Market | In line with current societal mutations, Art Paris has sharpened its local-global identity by following a specific process that allows the encounter of international artistic realities within French and European contexts. The 2019 edition deepens the exploration of the French scene with a focus on the feminine gender, while displaying South America’s aesthetic diversity from the 1960’s to the present day. Both trajectories intertwine and resonate with contemporary issues. Here are the trends to observe.

The feminine gender on the spotlight

Since 2016, contemporary art fairs have revisited art history, promoting the visibility of female artists long forgotten by the market. Art Paris addresses the origin of this shift by inviting the platform Aware  : Archives of Women artists, Research and Exhibitions to present a selection of female artists in the fair.
