Art follows the Function

Contemporary Art | Hervé Van Der Straeten is exhibiting at Karsten Greve (Saint Moriz) several pieces of furniture designed to form a dialogue with contemporary art. The object thus complies with the standards of the artwork. At the same time, the Cumulus gallery, Nathalie Karg, produces functional outdoor furniture made and designed by artists free to imagine fantastical forms. The only constraint for these creations is that they are useful and resistant to bad weather. A diversion of the artwork that utility classes as objects of merchandise. A crossing over of genres, the frontiers between art and design collapse to exploit new markets more effectively.
