Who's art: Isabelle and Fabrice de Pontfrache
Contemporary Art | Breaking with traditional circuits, Isabelle and Fabrice de Pontfrache are amongst those French collectors who are redesigning the outlines of art’s ecosystem, initiating new modes of diffusion so that artists without a gallery in France can become known. Three to four times a year, they ask a reputed commissioner to devise an exhibition at their home, a small building in the heart of Paris. The artworks from their collection are withdrawn to make way for those of the artists represented. Throughout the week of the event, they orchestrate a powerful networking dynamic : French and foreign collectors passing through Paris as well as leading figures are invited every day, in small, private groups. Questioning and analysis are at the centre of discussion groups which take place in the intimacy of the home, veritable clubs for thought. A project carved around artworks and artists.
