BMW Art Car

Art & Business | The Pompidou Centre exhibition dedicated to Roy Lichtenstein has given pride of place in the entrance hall to a creation by the artist for BMW in 1977 named Car Three, a prototype which participated the same year in the 24 hours of Le Mans. This collaboration between the brand and artists began in 1975 with Alexandre Calder, on the initiative of the auctioneer and driver Hervé Poulain. The BMW Art Car series continued with creations from Olafur Eliasson and Jeff Konns. This was an avant-garde drive in the automobile sector of the time, illustrating the quest for both technical and creative excellence in evidence today.
