FIAC 2014, numbers are up

Art Market | FIAC 2014 closed with 74,567 visitors, up 1.4% from last year, to which 14,146 can be added from the satellite fair (OFF) ICIELLE. These figures bear witness to a resolutely international vision and propel it to the rank of second most important faire, after Basel : 26 countries represented, 48 French galleries or branches (24%), 124 from Europe (65%), and 45 American galleries (23%). Compared to the last FIAC, 7 galleries have been added. The ratio of French galleries dropped 6 points, in favor of the United States. In addition to the Hors les murs presentations, OFF (ICIELLE) attracted 68 galleries from 14 countries, of which 57 were foreign. Several important transactions were concluded : 3 Anish Kapoor works, for a total of 2.2m euro, by Lisson Gallery, 1 work by Gerhard Richter at the Van de Weghe gallery « Untitled (S78-1) «  for 2.2m euro, a body of works by Moussa Sarr at the De la Chatre gallery were sold to the Pinault (OFFicielle) collection. International and appealing, numerous foreign museums, institutions and collectors made the journey, including Qiao Zhibing (China), Estrellita Brodsky (USA), Anibal Jozami (Argentina).
