An allegory of excessive empires, Huang Yong Ping’s Monumenta
Contemporary Art | For Monumenta, the Chinese artist Huang Young Ping has created an installation highlighting the notion of empires – plural – in the form of a monumental allegory.
Empires exhibition is conceived for the 4,900 m2 floor of the Grand Palais, with 305 storage containers stacked 17 m high structuring the space to produce the colorful, sculptural impression of visiting one of the world’s major ports.
